#### How to Choose the Best Minecraft Server Hosting for Lag-Free Gaming Experience?

Minecraft remains a favorite game for millions of players worldwide, offering endless creativity, adventure, and collaboration opportunities. For players who want to enjoy a seamless multiplayer experience, selecting the right Minecraft server hosting is crucial. Hosting determines the performance, lag levels, and customization options of your server, which directly impacts your gaming experience.

At **EnderCloud**, we provide high-performance, reliable Minecraft server hosting with a suite of advanced features designed to ensure the best gameplay possible. We’ve invested in our own machines and established private data centers, ensuring superior performance, security, and control. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through what to look for when choosing a Minecraft server hosting provider and highlight why **EnderCloud** is the ideal choice for serious Minecraft players.

### Why Your Minecraft Server Hosting Matters

Running a Minecraft server isn’t just about having a virtual world to play in—it’s about ensuring that your world operates smoothly 24/7. The server hosting provider you choose plays a vital role in determining:

* **Lag-Free Gameplay**: Minecraft’s expansive worlds and resource-heavy builds require substantial server resources. The better the server hardware, the fewer lags and downtime issues players will face.

<summary>Understanding and Preventing Crash Packets</summary>

## 🛡️ Understanding and Preventing Crash Packets

### Introduction

In this article, we'll delve into the mechanics of Minecraft crash packets, explore common exploitation methods, and discuss essential preventive measures.

### 🌐 Understanding Crash Packets

Packets are the data units exchanged between the server and clients in Minecraft, facilitating communication. Crash packets, however, are manipulated packets designed to exploit vulnerabilities in the game's code. Their purpose is to overwhelm server resources, leading to crashes and widespread disruption.

### 🔍 Methods of Exploitation

Malicious players often exploit crash packets using various methods. One common approach is manipulating Netty, the networking framework that Minecraft relies on. Attackers craft packets with malicious payloads, overwhelming the server's processing capabilities and causing crashes.

### 🛠️ LPX Plugin - A Guardian Against Exploits

LPX, or Lightweight Protocol Extension, is a plugin designed to enhance server security by monitoring and filtering incoming packets. It detects abnormal patterns indicative of an exploit attempt, providing a crucial defense against crash packet exploits. With LPX, servers can significantly reduce the risk of crashes caused by malicious players.

### 🚀 Other AntiCrash Solutions

Beyond LPX, several AntiCrash solutions offer advanced packet inspection, anomaly detection, and pattern recognition algorithms. These tools identify and mitigate potential threats, adding an extra layer of security to server environments.

### 👁️ Remaining Vigilant

While LPX and AntiCrash solutions provide crucial defenses, server administrators must remain vigilant. Regularly updating server software and plugins is essential to patch known vulnerabilities and ensure a secure gaming environment.

### Conclusion

Crash packets pose a serious threat to Minecraft server stability, but with the right tools and preventive measures, administrators can protect their servers. LPX plugin, along with other AntiCrash solutions, serves as a valuable defense against malicious exploitation of Minecraft's networking code. By understanding the mechanics of crash packets and staying proactive in server security, the Minecraft community can continue to enjoy the game in a secure and stable environment.

<summary>Why DDoS Protection is Essential for Minecraft Servers?</summary>

Running a Minecraft server can be an exciting venture, but it comes with the responsibility of ensuring a smooth and secure experience for your players. One of the most common threats to Minecraft servers is a **Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack**. These attacks can overwhelm your server with fake traffic, causing lag, crashes, and downtime that can ruin the player experience.

In this blog post, we’ll explain why DDoS protection is essential for Minecraft servers and how **EnderCloud Shield**, part of **EnderCloud’s** server hosting package, helps safeguard your server against these attacks.

### What is a DDoS Attack?

A **Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS)** attack occurs when a server is flooded with more traffic than it can handle. This traffic is typically generated by malicious bots and is designed to disrupt the server’s normal functioning. For Minecraft servers, DDoS attacks can result in:

* **High Latency**: The server becomes slow, causing players to experience lag during gameplay.
* **Server Crashes**: The server may become overloaded and crash, resulting in players being kicked offline.
* **Extended Downtime**: If the server is under sustained attack, it may take time to bring it back online, affecting uptime and player satisfaction.

### Why Your Minecraft Server Needs DDoS Protection

Whether you’re running a small private Minecraft server or managing a large community, DDoS attacks can happen at any time. Hackers often target gaming servers to disrupt communities or gain control over server resources.

Here’s why DDoS protection is critical for your Minecraft server:

#### 1. Maintaining Uptime

If your server goes down during an attack, players will be disconnected, and it could take hours to restore service. DDoS protection ensures that your server remains accessible even when under attack.

#### 2. Preventing Lag

Lag is a major frustration for players. DDoS protection helps to minimize the impact of unwanted traffic, ensuring that your players enjoy a smooth, lag-free experience.

#### 3. Safeguarding Server Resources

A DDoS attack can strain server resources, causing performance to drop. Protection systems block malicious traffic before it reaches your server, preserving resources for your legitimate players.

### How **EnderCloud** Shield Protects Your Minecraft Server

At **EnderCloud**, we understand the importance of server security, which is why we’ve developed **EnderCloud Shield**—our advanced DDoS protection system. Here’s how **EnderCloud** Shield keeps your Minecraft server safe:

#### 1. Real-Time Traffic Monitoring

**EnderCloud** Shield constantly monitors server traffic for any unusual spikes that could indicate a DDoS attack. This real-time monitoring allows us to act quickly, identifying and neutralizing the threat.

#### 2. Automatic Mitigation

When **EnderCloud** Shield detects a DDoS attack, it automatically blocks malicious traffic, allowing only legitimate users to access the server. This means your server remains online and operational while the attack is neutralized.

#### 3. Advanced Filtering

**EnderCloud** Shield uses advanced filtering techniques to distinguish between genuine players and harmful bots. This reduces the likelihood of false positives, ensuring that your legitimate players aren’t accidentally blocked.

### Additional Security Features with **EnderCloud** Nodes

In addition to **EnderCloud Shield**, **EnderCloud**provides other key security features that help keep your server safe:

* **99.9% Uptime Guarantee**: Thanks to our custom-built infrastructure and DDoS protection, we ensure maximum uptime for your Minecraft server.
* **Secure Datacenters**: Our servers are housed in **EnderCloud'** own private datacenters, offering another layer of protection and control over security.
* **24/7 Support**: In the unlikely event that an issue arises, our support team is available 24/7 to help resolve it as quickly as possible.

### Conclusion

DDoS attacks can bring down even the most carefully managed Minecraft servers, but with **EnderCloud Shield** protection, you can ensure that your server remains secure and accessible to your players. Whether you’re dealing with a sudden influx of traffic or a targeted attack, **EnderCloud** has the infrastructure and tools needed to protect your server from malicious threats.

Start your Minecraft hosting journey with **EnderCloud** today and let us help you build a secure, high-performance server that your players will love.

# Why is There a Manual Payment System in the Billing Panel to Purchase Services?

**Q: Why do I need to use a manual payment system to purchase services?**\
A: EnderCloud uses a manual payment system for certain transactions to provide greater flexibility, security, and accuracy for our users. Here are a few key reasons why:

1. **Payment Verification**\
   Manual payments allow us to verify transactions more thoroughly, ensuring that all payments are legitimate and reducing the risk of fraud or chargebacks.
2. **Custom Payment Methods**\
   In some cases, users may prefer to use local or custom payment methods that are not fully automated by our system. Manual payments enable us to process a wide range of payment options that might not be available through automated systems.
3. **Personalized Assistance**\
   For larger or customized orders, our manual payment system allows us to provide personalized assistance, ensuring that each service is properly configured before finalizing the transaction.
4. **Billing Accuracy**\
   With manual payment, we can double-check that the correct billing amount and service details are applied, especially for complex purchases or custom packages.

**Q: Will the payment take longer to process because it’s manual?**\

A: If you’ve completed your payment but haven’t received your service or product yet, here are a few possible reasons and steps to take:

1. **Payment Processing Time**\
   Sometimes payments take a while to process, depending on the payment method you used. Please allow up to a few hours for the payment to be confirmed, especially if it was made via bank transfer or manual payment methods.
2. **Manual Payment Verification**\
   If your service requires manual payment, there may be a slight delay as our team manually verifies the payment and activates the service. Typically, this process is completed within a few hours during business hours.
3. **Email Confirmation**\
   Ensure that you have received a payment confirmation email. If you haven’t, double-check your spam or junk folder. If you did not receive confirmation, your payment may not have been processed successfully.

# How to install and setup Skinrestorer?

## #1 | How to install and setup Skinrestorer

### Skin Restorer

Developers: SRTeam   &#x20;

### What and Why?

When operating a crack server, you must set ‘online-mode’ to ‘false.’ This, however, causes skins to stop working, causing all players who join your server to identify with a Steve or Alex skin. To resolve this situation with crack servers, you’ll need to include a plugin that can restore players’ skin, which is where Skin Restorer comes in. Using Skin Restorer allows users to join with the skin associated with their in-game name.

The reason why skins don’t load in the first place, is because crack servers don’t authenticate with the Mojang skin server.

> If you are running a cracked server, please make sure that you’ve set it up to be safe and secured. Setting `online-mode` to `false` can make your server vulnerable.

# How to Install and use OpeNLogin

#### How to Install and use OpeNLogin

### What is OpeNLogin

Using this plugin will allow your players to authenticate the ownership of their account, keeping someone else from entering the server as the player.

***

### Installation Process

Like any other plugin, you’ll need to download the **.jar** file of OpeNLogin, then add it to your plugins folder. Once you’ve added OpeNLogin to your plugins folder, fully restart the server, and all configuration files will be generated for OpeNLogin.

### Configuration

After you’ve joined the server for the first time after installing OpeNLogin, you’ll see a message from the plugin in the chat. The message will ask you whether you want to install nLogin or OpeNLogin. Open the chat, and click on the yellow text that says “OpeNLogin”, and confirm it by clicking on it again. The plugin will kick you out of the server so that the plugin installation can be completed. Simply join back, and you’ll now be asked to register your account. After you’ve registered your account, you will have full access to the server. Next time you enter the server, you’ll be asked to log in. To log in, use the credentials you’ve used to register your account.

<figure><img src="https://falixnodes.net/assets/images/posts/plugins/openlogin/install-choice.png" alt="image"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Extra Configuration

If you would like to change some other things about the plugin, such as time to login or setting a small password size, you can do that by editing the file `config.yml` which is saved in `/plugins/OpeNLogin/`

# How to install and setup DiscordSRV

#### How to install and setup DiscordSRV

### **What is DiscordSRV?**

Using this plugin, you are able to give players the ability to chat in-game to chat with players on your Discord server as well as having people on the Discord server be able to chat with people on the server- this is useful for the situation of someone not being at their computer and being able to talk in-game.

As well as that, this plugin also has a remote console feature. You can designate a text channel for the plugin to listen on where messages sent to that channel are run as commands by the server console. You should restrict sending this channel to a developer or high ranking role only. Due to how Discord’s permissions work, though, you can have some server roles being able to see the console, yet not being able to send messages in that channel, thus creating a read-only console for trusted staff members.

Both the chat and console link are toggleable through the configuration file. Some, but not all, options can be refreshed with /discord reload, by an op. VanishNoPacket permissions like silent join/quit, fake join/quit and join without announcing are checked when sending player join messages in the chat channel.

***

### **Installation Process**

Like any other plugin, you’ll need to download the .jar file of DiscordSRV, then add it to your plugins folder. Once you’ve added DiscordSRV to your plugins folder, fully restart the server, and all configuration files will be generated for DiscordSRV.

You can download DiscordSRV by clicking “Download this Plugin” above.

### Creating your Discord Bot

Before continuing, creating a bot on Discord is needed in order to proceed to the next step.

### Creating

In the Discord Developer dashboard, create a new application. Then, on the application’s page, go to the Bot tab, click Add Bot, and confirm.

Enable the **SERVER MEMBERS INTENT** option under “Privileged Gateway Intents” on the bot tab as well.

### Inviting

Inviting your bot is easy, in the bot’s General Information tab, copy the applications’ ID. Go [here](https://scarsz.me/authorize), then press Ctrl V to paste the ID. This will redirect you to the bot’s invite link.

Invite the bot to the server you want it in.

***

### **Configuration**

### Sync Plugin with Discord Bot

In order for your Minecraft server’s chat to send to your Discord server, you’ll need to add your bot’s token to the plugin’s configuration.

To find your bot’s token, head back to your Discord Developer dashboard, click on your applications, go to the Bot tab. Click the Copy button under token.

In the config.yml file of DiscordSRV, paste the token where it says BotToken, usually on line 5.

### Setting Channel on your Discord Server

We need to tell DiscordSRV which channel on your Discord server it should send the chat to.

In the config.yml file of DiscordSRV, there is a place to add your channel ID, usually on line 11. Replace “0000000000” with your channel ID.

To get your channel ID, right click on the channel you want to set for the Minecraft chat, then click on Copy ID. If the Copy ID option is not showing, please enable Developer Mode in your Discord’s Advanced settings.

Optionally, you can set a console channel in your Discord server too. This can be used to send commands to your server from Discord, please keep this channel hidden from other members and only visible to admins.

# &#x20;How to install and setup Luckperms

#### How to install and setup Luckperms

### What is Luckperms, and why should I use it over PermissionsEx / GroupManager?

LuckPerms is an advanced, flexible, modern permissions plugin that allows you to configure exactly how you want your server to work. You should use it over PermissionsEx as PEx is currently unmaintained.

### How to install LuckPerms

1. Download the latest version for your platform (IE Bukkit / Bungee / SpongeForge) from <https://luckperms.github.io/>
2. Use an [FTP Client](https://winscp.net/eng/download.php) or the **`File Manager`** to upload the LuckPerms jar to your server’s **`plugins`** directory.
3. Start your server, wait for it to fully start, Luckperms is Successfully installed

### How to set up a basic admin group and add yourself to it

* To create the group through console, type **`lp creategroup admin`**
* To add yourself to the group you can use **`lp user <yourname> parent add admin`**
* To add permissions to the group use **`lp group admin permission set <permission>`**

**Adding a prefix**

Adding prefixes is slightly more complicated in LuckPerms. Firstly make sure you have a chatmanager such as EssentialsXChat, and you’ll also need vault. Next, each prefix has to have a weight. Essentially this decides which prefix is chosen if a user is in multiple groups, so for example it’s best to have owner at 100, admin at 90, moderator at 80, etc. Once you’ve decided that you can use the command **`lp group <name> meta addprefix <weight> <prefix>.`** More information can be found on [LuckPerms’ wiki](https://github.com/lucko/LuckPerms/wiki/Prefixes,-Suffixes-&-Meta).

### How to import permissions from another plugin &#x20;

Importing permissions from a plugin such as PermissionsEx is easy with LuckPerms.

1. Firstly, install LuckPerms as shown at the top of this article, but leave PEx/GM installed.
2. In console type **`lp migration <plugin>`**, for example **`lp migration PermissionsEx`**. LuckPerms will notify you if it needs any more information to complete the move
3. Enjoy your new permissions setup!

&#x20;

### LuckPerms Wiki

# How to make custom ip address

### Choosing A Domain Provider

There are a lot of places where you can register a domain. Here are a few popular ones:

* [Endercloud domains](https://billing.endercloud.in/domains)&#x20;

If you want to register a free domain, try [Freenom](https://www.freenom.com/).

> We’re unrelated to the above services and are simply providing examples. Feel free to use any domain provider you want.

### Creating A SRV Record

You are required to use a SRV record to link your domain to your Minecraft server. Some domain providers like Freenom don’t provide this, so we recommend that you use Cloudflare. To create a SRV record, you must first go to your domain’s DNS settings. Create a new record, then follow the table below:

| Record Type | Name | Service     | Priority | Weight | Port   | Target |
| ----------- | ---- | ----------- | -------- | ------ | ------ | ------ |
| SRV         | @    | \_minecraft | 0        | 5      | 000000 |        |

Make sure to replace `<server_IP>` with your Minecraft server’s IP, for example india7`.endercloud.in`.

Make sure to change `port` to your server’s port.

> It may take up to 24 hours for your DNS settings to be updated.

You should be able to join your server with your new custom IP.

# How to Convert Minecraft Bukkit World to Vanilla

#### How to Convert Minecraft Bukkit World to Vanilla

### Converting Bukkit Worlds to vanilla

If you upload or generate a world on a Bukkit/Spigot/Paper server, you will notice that when the server loads it splits the world into three folders: `world`, `world_nether` and `world_the_end`, or one for each dimension. This is fine until you want to download the world and run it in singleplayer or switch to a vanilla/Fabric/Forge server. This guide shows you how to convert Bukkit/Spigot/Paper worlds back to ones that can be used on vanilla or other server types.

\
Part 1: Download the world[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/converting-worlds#part-1-download-the-world)

**Note:** This is not strictly necessary, you CAN use SFTP or the file manager if you want, but downloading the files makes them much easier to work with.

This is most easily done by archiving the files using the Pterodactyl file manager and downloading them using SFTP. For instructions on using the file manager and SFTP, please see the articles on them, respectively.

### Part 2: Converting the world[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/converting-worlds#part-2-converting-the-world)

Once you have downloaded and extracted your archive from the server, you should have three folders that look like this:

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2F9tMj9RBlURwgk7MoyCA0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9e41147f-34c4-4a1d-999d-cf7abf19d3f5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this guide, we will be referring to the folder where these folders are located as the "root" folder

First, go into `world_nether` and copy the `DM-1` folder. You can safely ignore everything else.

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FE9gvYJUYEaCBVyy5vBRh%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c7823c17-8f73-46c0-84fd-6fa7967dedae" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Now, return to the root folder open the `world` folder and paste the `DM-1` folder.

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2Flc4yjYcvMxp22b2M5HON%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ce9afd7b-39df-4993-927b-a714fc08be63" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Return to the root folder once again and go into `world_the_end`. From here, copy the `DM1` folder and paste it in the `world` folder, as we did with the `DM-1` folder previously.

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FFnszNNbRbVaNVE4bvSij%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d36fb448-e9fd-443c-8cfa-200ff890235b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FXms6imDrCIsEcje9r6T1%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2c4f68de-aa8f-417c-a706-1ca8fe8ecd1b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By copying the DM-1 and DM1 folders into `world`, you have made a copy of all the data of the Nether and End dimensions available in the `world` folder, which means that it now contains all the required data to run all three dimensions successfully (it already has its own copies of `level.dat`, `session.lock` and `uid.dat`) and can be run without issue on vanilla, Fabric, Forge and other servers.

Congratulations You did it!

# How to Setup Bungeecord

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2Fmoe2pnR3Jxae6W1zcGSD%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b7b3947e-4233-4a7f-9fdb-6046d5d4306d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### What Is It?

[BungeeCord](https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/bungeecord/) (created by the [SpigotMC](https://www.spigotmc.org/XenStaff/) team) is a proxy designed to seamlessly connect multiple Minecraft servers together, allowing players to navigate between them without leaving the game.

BungeeCord is compatible with Spigot, Purpur, PaperMC, and any Spigot fork. It will **NOT** function on Forge/Fabric or vanilla servers.

#### What is it useful for?

BungeeCord is very beneficial for server administrators that want to separate their server’s activities (such as minigames, creative, survival, and so on). BungeeCord is utilized and trusted by notable servers such as [Hypixel](https://hypixel.net/), [Mineplex](https://www.mineplex.com/home/), [HiveMC](https://hivemc.com/), and much more.

### Preparing The Backend Servers

**What Are Backend Servers?**

Fallback servers are all servers connected to your BungeeCord proxy.

1. Go to the Game Panel.
2. Click on any of your Backend servers.
3. Setup your server if it has not been setup before.
4. Go to the file manager.
5. Locate and open `server.properties`.
6. Scroll down and set `online-mode` to `false`.
7. Return to the file manager.
8. Locate and open `spigot.yml`.
9. Set `bungeecord` to `true`.
10. Restart the server.

Repeat the steps above for all your Backend servers.

### Creating And Configuring The Proxy

1. Go to the Game Panel.
2. Click on your proxy server.
3. Go to version Manager and click on bungeecord there ad then click on install.
4. Start your server then stop it.
5. Go to File Manager and locate `config.yml` and open it.
6. Scroll down to `priorities:- lobby`, change `lobby` to your default fallback server’s name (case sensitive). This will be the default server that users will be redirected to when they join your BungeeCord server.
7. Scroll down and set `IP_forward` to `true`.
8. Scroll down to `servers:` and use the template below:\
   &#x20; `server-name:`\
   &#x20;   `motd: '&1Just another BungeeCord - Forced Host'`\
   &#x20;   `address: server-IP:PORT`\
   &#x20;   `restricted: false`
9. Change `server-name` to the fallback server’s name (case sensitive). Change `server-IP:PORT` to the fallback server’s IP and port.
10. Save the file and start your server.

### BungeeCord Commands

You can find a list of BungeeCord commands [here](https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/bungeecord-commands/).

#### In Game

Players, including you (of course), can easily teleport to the other servers on your network by using the `/server` command in-game. Then they can use their cursor to click on the server they want to go to. They can also do `/server <name>`, like `/server lobby`.

This command requires the `bungeecord.command.server` permission which is granted to everyone by default.

# &#x20;What is the Best Minecraft Server Jar

#### What is the Best Minecraft Server Jar

### Recommended Software:

#### [Purpur](https://purpurmc.org/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#purpur)

"Purpur is a drop-in replacement for Paper servers designed for configurability and new, fun, exciting gameplay features. \ Purpur aims to make your server more configurable, it adds **a lot** of fun or useful (all off by default) [configuration options](https://purpurmc.org/docs/Configuration/) to your server, it adds these on top of the paper and pufferfish improvements.

\
[Paper](https://papermc.io/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#paper)

Paper is a [fork](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_\(software_development\)) of Spigot and aims to have better performance and stability. It also has an expanded API, allowing plugins to become even faster. This jar is highly recommended as it fixes exploits, bugs, and more as well as it greatly improves performance and stability of any Minecraft server.\ Paper works with Bukkit and Spigot plugins and is the recommended default jar.[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#recommended-software)

***

### Modded Minecraft:[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#modded-minecraft)

#### [Forge](https://files.minecraftforge.net/) ([Installation Guide](https://docs.godlike.host/en/forge-setup))[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#forge-installation-guide)

Forge is a jar that adds a modding API for developers to tap into. It is much more expansive than Bukkit, as players also have to install mods on their end, allowing for more possibilites. It's recommended for mods and modpacks. Mostly used for older versions of the game. (pre1.12)

#### [Fabric](https://fabricmc.net/) ([Installation Guide](https://docs.godlike.host/en/fabric-setup))[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#fabric-installation-guide)

Fabric is a jar that makes modding easier and smoother than Forge. Fabric is considered superior to Forge due to a better API that is more documented. It's mostly used for more modern versions of the game.\ Fabric, with a few performance mods added, is recommended if you want to run a modern technical MC server.

***

### Other popular options:[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#other-popular-options)

#### [Vanilla](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#vanilla)

Vanilla is the jar provided by Mojang to run Minecraft servers. This is the bare minimum for servers with no plugin API for plugins to hook into or a modding API like forge. It is not optimized and only recommended for small groups of friends who want to play plain vanilla.

#### [Bukkit](https://bukkit.org/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#bukkit)

Bukkit is an open source but defunct jar that was used in the early days of Minecraft plugin development. In 2014, Bukkit Project lead Warren Loo announced the end of the Bukkit project. The project was then DMCA'd by a former developer causing massive amounts of code to no longer be apart of Bukkit. If you want to learn the whole situation, read [Justin Flory blog post](https://blog.jwf.io/2020/04/open-source-minecraft-bukkit-gpl/) about it. CraftBukkit is a continuation that is still supported by Spigot, but is not recommended for servers as it's old and rarely recieves updates.

#### [Spigot](https://www.spigotmc.org/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#spigot)

Spigot is a fork of Bukkit that began in 2012. After Bukkit defuncted, it became the new standard as Bukkit plugins could all run on Spigot. Spigot is not recommended anymore as Paper has far surpassed it in performance and options.

#### [Pufferfish](https://github.com/pufferfish-gg/Pufferfish)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#pufferfish)

"A highly optimized Paper fork designed for large servers requiring both maximum performance, stability, and "enterprise" features."\ Pufferfish is a fork of paper (and as such also includes all of the improvements paper adds) that aims to add even more performance optimizations over paper. It includes every change that airplane used to have. And adds some of its own changes too.

#### [Sponge](https://www.spongepowered.org/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#sponge)

Sponge is an API designed to be an overhaul of the Bukkit API, it also allows you to run Forge mods together with Sponge plugins. It doesn't run Bukkit or any of its fork plugins. Currently, Sponge is on version 1.12.2 and is recommended for if you want modpacks and plugins together as smoothly as possible.

#### [Minestom](https://minestom.com/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#minestom)

"Minestom is a complete rewrite of Minecraft server software, open-source and without any code from Mojang."\ Minestom is a *very* experimental developer API not meant to be used by end-users. Replacing Paper with this will not work since it does not implement the Bukkit API. It's very fast and can handle a lot of players. Only try if you like tinkering with code and are prepared to put in the work.

***

### Deprecated Server Software[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#deprecated-server-software)

> DANGER
>
> The server software mentioned in this section are no longer updated and are not recommended for use on your servers; however they are kept here for reference purposes.

#### [Airplane](https://airplane.gg/)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#airplane)

"A stable, optimized, well supported 1.16.5 & 1.17 Paper fork."\ Airplane is a fork of paper (and as such also includes all of the improvements paper adds) that aims to add even more performance optimizations over paper.\ Airplane isn't being updated to modern versions of the game.

It is recommended that an alternative JAR such as [Purpur](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#purpur) or [Pufferfish](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#pufferfish) should be used.

#### [Tuinity](https://github.com/Spottedleaf/Tuinity)[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#tuinity)

Tuinity is a high performance fork of paper (and as such also includes all of the improvements paper adds) that brings more performance changes for servers to play around with. It can greatly increase TPS, allowing a smoother experience, especially on bigger servers. Tuinity has now been merged into [Paper](https://docs.godlike.host/en/jars#paper) with all of its improvements and optimizations, and as such Tuinity as a jar is now obsolete.

# &#x20;How to change Minecraft Java Version ?

Endercloud.in offers different versions of Java to suit your server. The default Java 17 or 11 (8 for Forge servers if you specified that when purchasing your server.) will suit most people. This guide will show you how to change the version of Java if it does not work for your server.

1. Firstly you want to go to the Game Panel[ ](https://gbnodes.host/ca/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/11/how-to-change-minecraft-java-version/1/panel.gbnodes.host)and select the server that you want to change the Java version of.
2. On the left side, select 'Startup'.
3. Next, find the Docker Version tab (usually on the top right of the page)

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FXf78UMAlIF6htYvNOkxI%2Fcc.png?alt=media&amp;token=0dd4a123-8cdf-4a18-911d-ee6b23a74c53" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

CAUTION

All Minecraft 1.18+ versions require Java 17 to work. Use the Java 17 option to use Java 17 on your server.

# How to optimize paper minecraft server ?

#### How to optimize paper minecraft server ?

### Paper Server Optimization Guide

Since 1.13, Minecraft servers have gotten progressively harder to run.

There are a few ways to make your server run better, we will be outlining some here.

But first, it's good to note that a "perfect" optimization guide does not exist, most optimization changes include changing or removing gameplay features. Each server will be different, *you* have to decide how much you want to change and sacrifice for performance.

If you have performance headroom you might even want to do the opposite! For example, maybe you want an extra high view distance because you think it looks cool.

***

&#x20;

### Guides to optimize your server[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/optimization#guides-to-optimize-your-server)

There are **many** different options you can utilize to change your servers gameplay and performance.

**We recommend checking out** [**https://github.com/YouHaveTrouble/minecraft-optimization**](https://github.com/YouHaveTrouble/minecraft-optimization) **for an in depth guide on how to optimize your server.**

Remember that each server is be different, and that *you* have to decide for yourself which features you want to change. **Don't blindly copy paste values ;)**

You can also check this [guide](https://paper-chan.moe/paper-optimization/) which goes way more in depth of what each option does and how each one may affect your server.

***

### What to avoid:[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/optimization#what-to-avoid)

Plugins that promise to fix your lag often end op doing the opposite, stay away from plugins like Clearlagg! - Plugins like these will promise to do things like removing entities. This will in fact help with lag, for a short bit. But your server will immediately try to spawn more entities again, which just results in more lag!

What you should do instead, is change your server options and just lower the max entities allowed.

An analogy `by Craftboy`:

> Lets say IRL you are tasked with keeping 50 trees (pretend these are your entities in game) in your yard, but some guy (clearlagg) comes around every 5 minutes and chops them all down. its your job to make sure there's always 50 trees there at a MINIMUM. so you have to go plant more. then mr clearlagg comes along 5 minutes later and chops them down again. (rinse and repeat)
>
> Same could be said about any mob stacking plugins. imagine you have to keep 50 trees in your land, but some other guy (mob stacker) deletes 49 of them and puts a sign on that 1 remaining that says "x50". theres really only 1 tree there, and you still have to keep a MINIMUM of 50, so you plant 49 more.

# How to Change MOTD of Minecraft Server ?

First you need to write your MOTD, you can use this website to help you. Once you have your MOTD like you want it, copy the server.properties code. like the one shown below

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FbbsKWuebs0vqyoCiyXJ2%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5d193ee4-cbe2-41e8-8004-1e0a1f847f1b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Open your server panel and head to File Explorer, if you need a hand, check out [this guide!](https://docs.godlike.host/en/file-manager-controls). Now, enter your `server.properties` and head to the motd section and paste the copied text where the old one was, then restart your server and your changes will be made.

### How to change your MOTD with ServerListPlus[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/motd#how-to-change-your-motd-with-serverlistplus)

ServerListPlus is a plugin that changes your MOTD through a plugin also adding features like custom MOTDs for seperate players. You can download it [here!](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/serverlistplus.241/)

Now download and place the plugin into your servers `plugins` folder and restart. once you have restarted head, into the ServerListPlus folder and open the `config.yml`. Now you can change the MOTD how you like. [this website](https://mctools.org/motd-creator) can help you make one shown below.

<figure><img src="https://docs.godlike.host/en/assets/images/motd-4-87dd17fcb6910ebb2d12d8eb1dc50e63.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

&#x20;

### How to change your MOTD with MiniMOTD[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/motd#how-to-change-your-motd-with-minimotd)

ServerListPlus is a plugin (Spigot/Paper/BungeeCord/Velocity) or mod (Fabric/Sponge only) tat changes your MOTD using the MiniMessage system and supports RGB (1.16+). You can download it [here!](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minimotd-server-list-motd-plugin-with-rgb-gradients.81254/)

Now download and place the plugin into your servers `plugins` folder (or mods folder) and restart. once you have restarted head, into the MiniMOTD folder and open the `main.conf`. Now you can change the MOTD how you like. [the MiniMessage docs](https://docs.adventure.kyori.net/minimessage/format.html#minimessage-format) can help you make one shown below.

&#x20;

MiniMOTD also has some advanced features such as multiple icons per MOTD and [different MOTDs per virutal hosts](https://github.com/jpenilla/MiniMOTD/wiki#advanced-configuration) (BungeeCord/Velocity only).

The [MiniMessage docs](https://docs.adventure.kyori.net/minimessage/format.html#minimessage-format) can help you to create the MOTDs and use more advanced features such as gradient colours as MiniMessage works differently to other plugins.

### How to change your MOTD on Bungeecord[](https://docs.godlike.host/en/motd#how-to-change-your-motd-on-bungeecord)

Changing your MOTD on Bungeecord is slightly different. You can still use ServerListPlus or MiniMOTD, following the guide above, but if you want to do it without ServerListPlus or MiniMOTD, enter your Bungeecord `config.yml` and head to the MOTD you can use [this website](https://mctools.org/motd-creator) to help you like the one below.

### Creating a Hologram

&#x20;

&#x20;

To create a hologram, use `/hd create <name>`.

Note that the hologram is going to be created at the position where the player that issued the command is.

You should be able to see this now:

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FVT6NjyKLY4WRFNRr5EId%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b4aa79de-aa7e-4945-9540-6e3cbee45881" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# How add a Server Resource Pack

#### How add a Server Resource Pack

### What is a resource pack and why use it on my server?

A resource pack enables you and other players to customize and change the appearance of the game by customizing and changing textures, sound, fonts, and much more without altering the game code directly. This could be used on your Minecraft server to showcase the genuine beauty of your server

&#x20;

### Adding a Resource Pack

To add a resource pack to your server, you have to provide a ‘direct’ link to the resource pack as a ZIP file, which is generally a download link from the author’s website.

You’ll add this link next to the resource-pack= property in the server.properties file.

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FGIr34k3Ge4QMLdUKuJSq%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=989daaf0-704f-44a4-8730-b2d592b63126" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Options

Other options are available for the resource packs property, which can also be accessed in the server.properties file.

| **Property**          | **Description**                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| resource-pack-prompt | Optional, adds a custom message to be shown on resource pack prompt when require-resource-pack is used. Expects chat component syntax, can contain multiple lines. |
| resource-pack-sha1 | Optional SHA-1 digest of the resource pack, in lowercase hexadecimal. It is recommended to specify this, because it is used to verify the integrity of the resource pack. Note: If the resource pack is any different, a yellow message “Invalid sha1 for resource-pack-sha1” appears in the console when the server starts. Due to the nature of hash functions, errors have a tiny probability of occurring, so this consequence has no effect. |
| require-resource-pack | When this option is enabled (set to true), players will be prompted for a response and will be disconnected if they decline the required pack. |

# Minecraft Chunk Corruption errors and their fix

### Chunk Corruption Errors

```
[INFO] Chunk (42, -2) stored at (35, -28)
[SEVERE] java.lang.Throwable
[SEVERE] at org.bukkit.craftbukkit.util.LongHashtable.get(LongHashtable.java:32)
[SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.ChunkProviderServer.getOrCreateChunk(ChunkProviderServer.java:104)
[SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.World.getChunkAt(World.java:300)
[SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.World.getTypeId(World.java:247)
```

The above is what chunk corruption errors look like. Chunk corruption can cause a plethora of problems including: lag, world data not saving, world holes, malfunctioning plugins, and other odd behavior. There aren't many solutions to fixing it other than by using a program such as MCEdit to remove the damaged area or using chunk repair utilities (if they are not oudated/still in development) or create a new world.

# Out of Memory Error Minecraft ?

### Out of Memory

Usually, out of memory errors (and other errors that are similar) is due to your server basically running out of memory also known as RAM. The cause though, is a bit more difficult to determine. Note that every Minecraft package we sell has a set amount of RAM. The use of plugins will use up this RAM in addition to each user in your server taking up a chunk of that RAM themselves. Thus, the more plugins you have, the fewer players you can have online at the same time - so you will need to lower the max player slots in this case. Using multi-world plugins is notorious for causing out of memory crashes because each world you add uses up quite a lot of memory even if no players are on that world.

Other causes of out of memory errors can be due to out of date plugins or incompatible plugins with the version of CraftBukkit your server uses. It is always best to ensure that everything on your server is up to date to reduce the chances of this occurring (note that a 100% stable server is nearly impossible to have due to the nature of Minecraft/CraftBukkit servers and plugins). It can also be caused by things in your world such as mobs, lava, water, redstone, pistons, entities etc, as these can cause memory leaks and have to be removed manually.

# Different Minecraft Lag Types and their fixes ?

With Minecraft being so varied with different settings, mods and plugins, there can be a number of things that you can do to improve lag on your server.

**Common reasons for lag:**\
\- Too many players and not enough RAM.\
\- Too many mobs/items and not enough RAM.\
\- You are too far away from your server.\
\- [Corrupt chunks/Entities](https://gbnodes.store/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/17/minecraft-chunk-corruption-errors-and-their-fix/1/)\
\- Too many worlds are running on your server without sufficient RAM.\
\- Errors are spamming in your console.\
\- Too many plugins running on your server and not enough RAM.\
\
&#x20;

**THINGS TO DO FIRST**\
\
Console Errors\
Always, check for console errors before submitting a ticket.\
Most are easily solved with a Google search and you should get into the habit of fixing your server.

1\. Check if you have any errors in your console. If you see any "SEVERE" errors, this maybe be the cause of your lag.\
2\. Try and troubleshoot these errors. Google is your friend, and we have a knowledge base full of guides.

If you see "End of Stream" with a "SEVERE" tag, do not be alarmed. Unless this is spamming in your console this it not an issue.

**TPS lag (server lag)**

The next type of lag is server lag. This is described in Minecraft as TPS. TPS stands for Ticks Per Second. TPS is otherwise known as game ticks and is a maximum of 20. 20 TPS is hardwired into Minecraft as the universal speed. That is to say, the smallest amount of time possible that is distinguishable from the game's perspective. Each “tick” causes the game to recalculate directions of mobs, as well as other things such as growing crops adjusting the direction of mobs etc. Just to get an idea of how long it is, each redstone tick is equivalent to 2 game ticks. This is incidentally also the reason redstone “half” ticks exist, being 1 game tick. Remember that TPS and FPS are different. TPS, on the server, is controlled by the speed and capabilities of the server. FPS is based on the player's computer.

**Reduce Your View Distance**\
We recommend that you reduce the view distance of your server from the default 10 to a value between 6-8.

**ClearLag**\
This plugin is a great and very configurable and is recommended for any server.\
ClearLag can be found on Bukkit here.\
1\. Once you have ClearLag installed you can run the command "lagg check" to see how many entities you have on your server\
2\. If you are running a small server anything over the value "500" may possibly be the reason for your lag.\
3\. If you do have a high number of entities, run the command "lagg clear" and "lagg killmobs". This will remove the lag causing entities from your server i.e. items on the ground and mobs

**Remove Plugins**\
The more players and plugins you have the more RAM you will need. If you have lots of plugins and not a lot of RAM you will overload your server causing it to have lag spikes and/or crash.\
The best thing to do it limit the amount of plugins you require to run your server, as some plugins such as Survival Games can use up to 1GB of RAM.

**Corrupted Chunks + Entity Buildup**\
A common issue with Minecraft servers is world "chunks" becoming corrupted, see an example of this here: [Chunk Corruption Errors.](https://gbnodes.store/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/17/minecraft-chunk-corruption-errors-and-their-fix/1/)\
Along with this, you can find that entities can buildup within the world, large number of entities in a small area (mobs, items on the floor etc) can also cause FPS and TPS lag. To limit these, we suggest running a region fixer, if you have a server with EnderCloud, you can create a support ticket to get this done, alternatively, you can run it on your world yourself using the tool here: [Minecraft Region Fixer](https://github.com/Fenixin/Minecraft-Region-Fixer/)

**Low Memory**\
Running your server without enough memory for the world/plugins/mods you are running on the server can often cause lag, you can read more about this here: [Out of Memory issues](https://gbnodes.store/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/18/out-of-memory-error-minecraft/1/)

\
**FPS lag (client lag)**\
\
As a player, you should be concerned with client lag. This lag is a direct result of the client. This means that this lag is caused by your computer running the Minecraft game. Client lag is affected by things like a large amount of entities (e.g thousands of dropped blocks or animals, and a few other related things, such as light values on structures running shader-packs, mods, etc). This will cause your FPS (Frames Per Second) to drop, and is the most common type of lag. When playing on servers this is reduced, as the game engine calculations are running on another computer (the server), minimizing the calculations your computer needs to run and therefore giving you, as the player, more resources to play the game. This is the only kind of lag that is affected by the quality of your computer.

**Fixing FPS lag**

The Optifine mod can help a player to achieve higher FPS with the same quality. You can also make efforts to limit this by removing all the land in spawn worlds, so that it is a void world with only the spawn, or should your spawn reside withing the same world as the world to play in, you can use WorldEdit to fill the caves below with stone, to lower the amount of light-values to be calculated when a player spawns. You should also remove any unnecessary and fast-flashing redstone and any mobs close by, by using WorldGuard regions and flags to block mob spawning.

\
**Latency**\
\
Finally, we get to Latency or Internet lag. Internet lag is usually a result of being geographically far from the server host. This means that the electrical impulses take many milliseconds to reach the server and then have to travel all that way back. This means there can be a lag between input from your computer to it appearing on your and other screens. Take the example of you placing a block in front of your friend. Firstly you have to click to place the block, that information then has to travel up to 12,756 km (diameter of the earth) to the server. Then, this information has to be processed and sent out to your friend's computer, which might be up to another 12,756 km away. Traveling this long distance can take a while. Other kinds of internet lag can include bandwidth issues, common in the event of a DDoS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack, where the server is bombarded with so many connections that it is unable to process normal connection. This is similar to how roads get slower and blocked with traffic when there is a lot of cars.\
\
&#x20;

**Fixing Latency Lag**\
If you want to check your latency with a server just log onto Minecraft and add the server you want to test to your list of servers.\
When it's added there will be a small icon in the top right on the server field just above the number of slots the server holds.\
If you hover over the icon it will tell you the ping of the server.

Fast Ping: <100ms\
Medium Ping: 100-200ms\
Satisfactory Ping: 200-300\
Slow Ping: 300-500ms\
Laggy Ping: >500ms

Latency lag is when you are too far away from your server so the connection is slightly delayed.

Check your server Daemon/Node location and see if you are the closest you can be to our servers.\
If you see that any of our server locations are closer to you than your current server's location, submit a ticket and request a transfer free of charge.

### How to Make a Custom Minecraft Texture Pack

*Last updated August 30, 2022*

### **Intro**

Minecraft is more than a decade old at this point, and the default textures are something that we’ve grown accustomed to. But this doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try new things. Minecraft makes it super easy for us to add new textures to the existing blocks in the game, and also create custom ones for ourselves!

A minecraft custom texture packs can have blocks with textures you like. You can go nuts with this project! You can add a smiley face on every dirt block, or turn every dirt block into a red-colored block, the possibilities are endless and in this easy to follow guide we will show you how to do it!

### **Step #1**

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_2561766a3cc5dc1bb4557c8f9143470360d621a4d00a2423b13f357f7d6540f7.jpg" alt="Open %appdata%"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The first step is fairly easy, while on your desktop screen press the Windows button and the R key together. A small pop-up window will show up. In this, you’ll have to type **%appdata%,** and click OK. This will open up a folder on your desktop that is normally hidden.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_80f3137eaff2f1ae5ee28573bd256494c0d3c0e76f7198b5972e134113e30350.jpg" alt="Find the Minecraft folder"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After this, locate the folder with the name Minecraft and open it.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_efed4e1ab12f81d42f460e316cefeb57a080657e963a61fd743792dbec95924e.jpg" alt="Many folders"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Inside that folder locate the **versions** folder. Choose the version of Minecraft that you want to add a texture pack too.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_c59274e447a00c03e771fdc29cc067cd65ff93ffb6789e62f7348c6bf75720d4.jpg" alt="Choose 1.17.1 version"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We’re using version 1.17.1 for the tutorial, but you can choose any version that you want.

### **Step #2**

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_6a2a50a2ea3a0eb35c32e208fc1fc0d9db8cc9689d8dd39ca8b73049fcfbdc08.jpg" alt="1.17.1 jar file"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

When you open the 1.17.1 folder you’ll see a .jar file with the JAVA logo, if you don’t see this, update your JAVA version, or [install JAVA](https://www.java.com/en/) if you haven’t already.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_a1787883f705dec509c3d87568db70826a792db94037e86899671f97a2d8f8f1.jpg" alt="1.17.1 jar file"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Take that .jar file to the desktop screen.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_49ea6936692769d9212d0f1ad78e934926531d31657c005ef836c10619316cf7.jpg" alt="Converted to a .zip file"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Rename the file to .zip, and this will convert it into a zip folder.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.minecrafttop.com/news/draft-63980/image_6145fa65b992bc5ac2afe53e667ff974856a940f34a98548bd614ef32be11779.jpg" alt="Extract here option"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# How can i connect my domain to my Minecraft Server ?

#### How can i connect my domain to my Minecraft Server ?

How to connect your server to a domain:

Before we start you will need a domain. You can purchase a domain from registrars such as Hostinger, Namecheap, Godaddy Etc.

Visit your domain provider and locate the “Advanced DNS Zone”. It may be called “DNS Zone”, “DNS" (on cloudflare) or “Advanced DNS”, or anything similar.

&#x20;

The below guide is based off of cloudflare:

<figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FyTIg1dugpcpAq7qfHA3d%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ebcac725-b6b9-4fd2-91b0-63eefb2685cb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**If your server has a Dedicated IP (has the port 25565) you can stop here.**

&#x20;

**Create a SRV record of the domain & continue with the following :**

&#x20;

* Set the target as the sub-domain you used above, including the main domain (e.g. **`play.yourdomain.com)`**, or to the main domain if you don’t want to use a sub-domain (e.g. **`yourdomain.com`**)
* Set the name to the sub-domain you used, for example **`play`** or **`mc`**, or **`@`** if you don’t want to use a sub-domain.
* Set the name of the SRV to \_minecraft.\_tcp.play (Play should be replaced by your sub-domain)
* Set the priority to 0
* Set the weight to 5
* TTL shall be set to Auto
* Port should be the port of your minecraft server
* Target field should be your subdomain with your domain (e.g. play.yourdomain.com)

  <figure><img src="https://2557277462-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FdLIJEZNsVY7zXMk0HymP%2Fuploads%2FV5VgQ6nsxl6qa7UHfaPP%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2644412f-8029-4ca1-a40a-270839ebc354" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to update existing records, but new records usually show instantly.\
Similarly if you also run Geyser on your Minecraft server and want a separate record for it ?&#x20;

You can create a separate record for Pe players by creating a new 'A ' record such as pe.endercloud.in.&#x20;

# Understanding and Preventing Crash Packets
